The Lean Startup

Book: The Lean Startup by Eric Ries

Inspiration: A critical component of commercialization analysis requires getting real feedback about your innovation idea. Ries’ lean startup principles are spot-on, showing how to “get out of the building” in the best, most efficient way possible. Furthermore, his concepts of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and Innovation Accounting helped put the fill in the latter phases of the BMI toolkit.

Anyone reading this book would have a hard time coming away thinking that an innovation undertaking can or should be run like any other major enterprise undertaking. If you are truly innovating, you are doing something different. Don’t let that fundamental truth stop at the idea generation stage!
